A few words about the AP Test:
· This course does not cover all the topics of the AP course or test but as we address similar topics, the instructor will try to highlight those things that are on the test.
· There are some AP test preparation books in the reference section of the library for those interested in pursuing the AP test.
· If you are interested in taking the AP test, it will require additional work outside of class that will not be included in your grade. It would be wise to make this decision early and begin studying those topics and reviewing the entire school year. One major component of the AP test is related to a set series of laboratory activities which we are unable to do. There are descriptions of these activities in various web sites so don’t forget to include this in your AP test preparation.
Additional Requirements, expectations and costs:
  • There is a marine Biology field trip scheduled for April 2012. All costs (transportation, marine park entry fee, accomodations and food) are the responsibility of each student. This field trip is a required part of the course and part of the 30% project section of the grading for the second semester.
  • All textbooks must be covered and taken care of. A $50 fee will be charged for any textbooks not returned or damaged.
  • Expected behavior.
    • be on time - 3 times tardy to class will earn extra lab cleaning responsibilities.
    • be respectful (don't interrupt or talk out of turn) - consequences to be determined.
    • be safe - one can only imagine the varied amounts of consequences.
